1918 Leo Korda-2 is happy in the Navy

The Gazette
Stevens Point
31 July 1918

On July 24 Leo F. Korda-2 wrote The Gazette that he, together with [illegible, perhaps "503 tradesmen"] had started from Great Lakes [illegible] on their way "across". Mr. Korda, whose home is in this city, is an expert carpenter and for a while prior to his enlistment in the navy as a carpenter, had been located in Chicago. Upon going into service he received a first class carpenbter's rating and he writes that he likes the work very well.
