Mrs. John Kubiayk


Mrs. John Kubiayk [Jennie Susie Korda-2], 66 of 1827 Hollister Ave., died unexpectedly Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. at her home. She had been in ill health for 15 years.

The former Jennie Korda, she was born in Stevens Point on Feb. 4, 1895, and was married there to John Kubiayk [John Kubiayk-2] on Sept. 23, 1913. They came to Oshkosh in 1922.

Mrs. Kubiayk was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband, John;

six daughters,
  • Mrs. Melvin Stannard [Melvin Fredrick Stannard-1, Phyllis C. Kubiayk-1], Oshkosh,

  • Mrs. Louis Wolinski [Louis Wolinski-1, Daisy Kubiayk-1], Evanston, Ill.,

  • Mrs. Nelson Fox [Nelson Fox-1, Ramona Kubiayk-1], Nixon, N.J.,

  • Mrs. Lorraine Glover [First name unknown of husband Glover-1,Lorraine J. Kubiayk-1], Milwaukee,

  • Mrs. Milton Brown [Milton Brown-1, Janet Kubiayk-1], Washington, D.C., and

  • Mrs. John Holdren [John Holden-1, Joan Kubiayk-1], Wichita, Kan;

three sons,
  • Lawrence [Lawrence J. Kubiayk-1],

  • John [John M. Kubiayk-1] and

  • George Kubiayk [George W. Kubiayk-1], Milwaukee;

four sisters,
  • Mrs. May Durant [Mae Korda-2], Stevens Point,

  • Mrs. Josephine Sweetella [Joseph Swetalla-2, Josephine Korda-2], Amherst,

  • Mrs. Augusta Skibba [Frank J. Skibba-2, Gusta Korda-2], Buhl, Minn., and

  • Mrs. Sam Collier [Samuel Collier-2, Anna Korda-2], Flint, Mich;

one brother,
  • Leo Korda-2, Chicago;

14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home and 9 a.m. at St. Josaphat Catholic Church, with the Rev. A. H. Trzebiatowski officiating. Burial will be in Cavalry Cemetary.

Friends may call at the funeral home from Friday at 3 p.m. until the hour of services. The rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 p.m.
