Gets Bride in Chicago

Paul Corda [Paul Korda-2], son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Corda [Anton Korda-3] of Stevens Point, was wedded Jan. 15th to Miss Gladys H. Mason [Agnes Muszynski-2], oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mason [John Muszynski-3], 1335 Dickson street, Chicago.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Swiatkowski at St. Stanislaus church, Chicago, and while the solemn words were being spoken a solo was rendered by Miss Helen Augustynowicz, with violin accompaniment by Miss Irene Mackowiak. The attendants were Frank Corda [Frank Korda-2], brother of the groom, and Miss Clara Mason [Clara Muszynski-2], sister of the bride, and Peter Nitz and Pearl Czyzewski. The groom is a well known former resident of this city, but for the past five years has worked in Chicago and at the present time runs a truck automobile for the Wheelers Varnish Co. The bride, who is a jolly young lady, was employed in the office of Mandel Bros.' store. The young couple will make their home at 2019 N. Hoyne avenue.

[Note: From the Polish Genealogical Society of Chicago marriage public data base, we find Record 137824 that "Agnes Moscinski" married "Paul" in 1913 and Record Number 127049 that "Paul Korda" married "Agnes" in 1913. From the birth public data base, we find Record 88751 that in 1891 "Agnes Mosinski" was born to father "John" ]

Note: First son Raymond Korda-1 was born in 1913 according to the 1920 and 1930 census for the Paul Korda-2 family.

1913 Wedding Jennie Korda-2 to John Kubiayk-2

Stevens Point Daily Journal
September 23, 1913
page 1

Married at St. Peter's

Miss Genevieve Susan Corda [Jennie Susan Korda-2], daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Corda [Anton Korda-3 and Susan Czech-3], 661 Prentice street, and John M. Kublick [John Kubiayk-2], son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kublick [Andrew and Katie Kubiaczyk-3] of Antigo, were united in marriage at St. Peter's church, Rev. Father Elbert officiating, at 9 o'clock this morning. The bridesmaid was Miss Marie Corda [Mae Korda-2], sister of the bride, and the best man was Steve Kublick [Steve Kubiayk-2], brother of the groom.

The bride wore a gown of cream brilliantine and carried lillies of the valley and the bridesmaid's dress was of cream marquisette over pink silk and she carried pink roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Kublick left for Antigo for a short visit, after which they will return to this city, where they will make their home.

[Note: I speculate that the names Jennie and Mae were not "Catholic" enough for the nuns at the school or for religious rituals like baptism and weddings so that Genevieve and Marie were Jennie and Mae's "Church names".]
